Getting Started
This manual will take you through the activation of Trimble's RangePoint RTX correction service. This manual is only for the FmX Integrated Display and FM-1000 Integrated Display. The FmX Integrated Display will be used as the example; however, the same steps apply to the FM-1000 Integrated Display.
Before You Start, You Will Need:
- A copy of the activation confirmation email that contains the activation password
- The minimum firmware requirement of version 7.2 installed on your device
Access Unlocks
From the Home screen click the "Unlocks" icon.
Select RangePoint RTX
You will now see the Advanced Functionality Access screen. Select RangePoint RTX, then click unlock.
Enter Password
Type the password (sent via email) on the virtual keyboard. The password for the FmX and FM 1000 is key sensitive and includes hyphens, enter the password exactly as it is written. Once you have entered the password, click the "OK" icon.
Confirm Success
You should see a pop-up window confirming that RangePoint RTX Service was successfully unlocked. Click the "Ok" button to return to the Advanced Functionality Access screen.
If Your Password Failed
If the password was entered incorrectly, a pop-up that says the password has failed or was not valid will be displayed. Click "OK" to re-enter the password. Then repeat step 3. If it still does not work contact a local Trimble positioning services customer care team or local reseller.
Service Unlocked
Once you have successfully entered the password, a green checkmark will appear next to the RangePoint RTX icon. This means you have unlocked this service. Click the "OK" button to return to the home screen.
Now that the RangePoint RTX service has been unlocked, the service will need to be configured by setting the correction source Frequency and Baud Rate.
Access Configuration
Select the configuration icon to be taken to the configuration screen.
GPS Receiver Setup
Select "GPS Receiver" from the list then click the "Setup" button.
Select Corrections
On the settings tab select corrections drop down arrow. Choose the RangePoint RTX option.
Access Frequencies Tab
You will see that the frequencies tab has become bold, select the tab, so you can change the frequency.
Select Frequency Option
Select the frequency option.
Enter Location-Specific Frequency
From here, select the frequency field. Use the virtual keyboard to enter the frequency based on location. Once the frequency has been entered, click OK. You can find the frequency needed using the table below.
Set Baud Rate
Now you must set the baud rate, click the drop-down arrow.
Select Appropriate Rate
Select the appropriate option showing the rate for the location. When complete click the OK. The baud rate can be referenced from the frequency table used in Step 6.
Access GPS Diagnostics
From the configuration screen, select the 'GPS Receiver' icon, then click the 'Diagnostics' button.
Verify Service Status
Your Vehicle GPS Status screen will be displayed. If Corrections says: RangePoint RTX Converged, your service is active and working correctly.
Convergence can take up to 5 minutes in a clear sky environment.
Select the OK buttons to return to the home screen. The set up is now complete and is ready to proceed with your regular operations.
Setup Complete!
Your RangePoint RTX correction service is now active and ready for regular operations.
